| The Montrose Search and Rescue Team is a non-profit, volunteer organization affiliated with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The men and women of the team are trained and ready to respond to virtually any wilderness emergency 24-hours a day. The team is always on stand-by and is notified via pagers when the need arises. Whether the call be for a lost or injured hiker, skier, or rock climber, the Montrose Search and Rescue Team is always ready to respond. The team performs 95% of its duties in the Los Angeles District of the Angeles National Forest. | |

| The team is comprised of 24 members who come from all walks of life, from business owners to space craft engineers. And while each member may have a different full-time occupation, they all share a common bond: The sense of satisfaction felt when the team participates in the successful location and rescue of someone in need. |
